Munich, 13th June 2018 – Bavaria's largest games company, Travian Games, has raised almost ten thousand euros for the Munich Children's Hospice Foundation (Ambulantes Kinderhospiz München) in cooperation with its subsidiary Bright Future.
The fundraising campaign, in which players of the gardening simulation game Miramagia could buy items specially developed for the charity event, successfully ended after its planned duration of six months. The players' generosity increased once again in the final days of the campaign, exceeding all expectations at a grand total of EUR 9,695. Travian Games GmbH rounded the amount up to EUR 10,000 and handed over the donations to the Munich Children's Hospice Foundation on 12th June 2018.
The CEO of Travian Games, Lars Janssen, is inspired by the outcome of the fundraising campaign: "I am simply overwhelmed by our players' support for this excellent campaign in aid of the Munich Children's Hospice Foundation. As part of my voluntary work for the foundation, I often try to come up with new ideas on how we can use our products for a good cause. Of course, I am particularly pleased when we are able to successfully combine something new for the players with a contribution towards a project that is close to our hearts."
Lena Bronner from the Munich Children's Hospice Foundation is likewise very grateful for the result: "When we heard the idea from the Travian Games team to collect donations through an online game, we were all immediately inspired. A game character with our logo was then designed with a loving attention to detail. Mina captivated our hearts right away. We were all excited once the game was finally launched with Mina. Today, six months later, we are able to look back on a campaign that was a complete success – both for raising awareness and for the incredibly generous donations. We would like to take this opportunity to offer our special thanks to Lars Janssen for his loyalty and all-round support. If it wasn't for his belief in our work and its importance, this campaign would undoubtedly not have been possible. And, of course, we would like to offer our appreciation to the developers, game designers and the business development team for the amazing implementation of the project. Thanks to all of you and the fantastic support of the whole team at Travian Games GmbH, we are able to help more and more families with severely disabled children in Munich and throughout Bavaria. Thanks to all of you incredible friends, donors and supporters!"
